Activating My Card

Why do I need to provide so much personal information?

The eFundraising Swipe2give card can operate as both a Loyalty card and a Prepaid card (see below). In both situations the participating merchant will swipe your card through their existing EFTPoS terminal. To comply with the conditions of using the EFTPoS system the cards need to be activated with the details of the cardholder as set out in the ‘Activate Your Card’ process.

What do I enter for a Membership Number during the ‘Activate Your Card’ process

This field is optional and you can enter something or leave blank.

Options With Your Card

What are the options for using my card?

Your eFundraising Swipe2give card, once it is activated, can be used as either

  • just a Loyalty card where funds are raised through your purchases, or
  • both a Loyalty Card and a Prepaid card, where you load (deposit) your card with funds and use it for payment of transactions.

When used for payment of transactions then the Loyalty card aspect described above is automatic

Using Your Card As A Loyalty Card

How does my eFundraising Swipe2give card work?

Your eFundraising Swipe2give Card is to assist you in raising funds for your nominated charity/organisation. Every time you make a purchase from a participating business (as listed in the eFundraising directory) and you spend the minimum requirement (as detailed),you need to present your eFundraising card either as a payment mechanism (Prepaid card) or as a Swipe2give only (Loyalty card). This will trigger the participating business’s contribution.

How do I know that the contribution amount has been made?

You must have spent the minimum requirement at a participating merchant and either used your eFundraising Swipe2give card to pay for purchases or used another form of payment (cash, credit, other debit card) and presented your card for Swipe2give only. The transaction/or swipe is processed using the EFTPoS terminal and this transaction will automatically trigger the business’s agreed contribution.

You will know when this has been done by checking the receipt
(it will be a declined transaction for 5 cents).

You can check your account online – it will show a zero transaction at that participating merchant.

Where can the Swipe2give Card be used?

The eFundraising Swipe2give card however can also be used at participating businesses. When you have spent the agreed Minimum Spend amount, (as detailed on the eFundraising Directory), at a participating business you can present your card for swiping. The card is to be swiped through the EFTPoS terminal. You will be required to enter your PIN. This transaction will automatically trigger the business’s agreed contribution.

Using Your Card As A Prepaid Card

Where can the Swipe2give Card be used?

Your eFundraising Swipe2give card can be used at any business in Australia to pay for goods or services using EFTPoS (accepted at the business’s discretion) where you, the cardholder, has deposited (loaded) funds onto your card. You present your card for payment and swipe through the EFTPOS terminal, select the SAVE button and enter in your 4 digit PIN. The business will only be able to contribute if it is registered in the eFundraising Directory.

Is the balance updated automatically?
