National recognition for Swipe2give

The prestigious 2009 Church Funds and Charities Summit invited Swipe2give Founding Partner John Lavender as a keynote speaker in Sydney earlier this month. The theme of the summit was sustainability and innovative ideas to support churches and charities.

Guest speakers spoke of the impact of the global economic crisis along with increasing competition for the charity dollar, and encouraged organisations to establish sustainable fundraising programs for the survival of future operations.

Wesley Mission’s, Dr Keith Sutter was a guest speaker who said the days of businesses donating cash to not-for-profit organisations are numbered therefore they must seek alternative and innovative programs,  like Swipe2give.

Other notable speakers included Fundraising Institute of Australia, CEO Chris McMillan who has invited Swipe2give to submit an article for the next issue of their national publication and attend their annual conference.

The exposure of Swipe2give at the summit has attracted tremendous interest with several large and small organisations wanting to join our new and sustainable program.

Welcome to Riding for the Disabled

Riding for the Disabled (RDA) was established in 1986, it is currently part funded by government, but real fears for future funding sent them in search of a sustainable fundraising program. Queensland State Fundraising Convenor Paula York was impressed with Swipe2give and signed up instantly.

With 19 centres in Queensland needing funds to keep horses and riders enjoying the benefits of riding it’s a big job for now but in the long term it will keep RDA operating for future generations.

The Swipe2give program aligns with the values of RDA and given the centres are locally based the program will raise funds for the centres and support local businesses at the same time. It’s a win-win!
